Large-format Printing (Poster Printing)
The MIS offers large-format printing for R-MC faculty and student research projects. Our printer accommodates sizes of up to 60" x 36" (one dimension must be equal to or less than 36"). The cost for the poster is $6.00 per running foot (12" x 36"). We do not print non-academic materials. We print one copy (only) of the poster. Patrons should bring the poster file to the MIS office, normally 2 to 3 days in advance for printing.
Tips for poster presentation design and printing guidelines for the Research Day
We do not print documents or flyers in these sizes: A (letter), Legal, or B (ledger). Students may use the printers/copiers in the Library and other locations for such printing. Faculty may contact the department secretaries for similar needs.
Transferring VHS Videos to DVD
For teaching, Instructors should work with the liaison librarian for obtaining the DVD copy of a video. We cannot take orders from the patron to copy a video, for personal or classroom use. The Media & Instructional Support has two stations for transferring videos from VHS to DVD. Patrons are welcome to stop by our office and get training on using the transfer/dubbing equipment.
Production Tools and Assistance
We teach these production skills to individual faculty, students and staff. We are happy to come to a class to give a 30-minute to one-hour instruction to the students. Equipment is available for check-out or for use in the Library media area.
