Researching Granting Organizations

Researching further background information on granting agencies and associations can help you create a stronger application. Here are some ways to get background information on granting associations--you may want to align your goals statement with what the granting association states as its goals. Try these databases for further information:

  • GuideStar Includes information on all tax-exempt nonprofits registered with the IRS. There are more than 1.8 million organizations in the database including more than 1 million public charities, approximately 141,000 private foundations, and more than half a million other exempt organizations.
