Tips for Successful Online/In-Person Learning, 2020-21 Academic Year

Although the 2020-2021 academic year looks a bit different at R-MC, our goal is for you to have a successful experience, whether you decided to commute this semester, are taking all your classes online, have a mix of online, hybrid, and face-to-face classes, or are quarantined or needing to shelter in place. This guide contains resources to help support you, no matter what format your classes are in.

Tips for Successful Online/In-Person Learning, 2020-21 Academic Year

 

Here are some general guidelines for being successful at at college, especially if your schedule is different from what you're used to:

  • Establish a good workspace and keep that space consistent
  • Stay on top of your syllabus
  • Engage in conversations online, either in message boards or video conferencing
  • Stay organized
  • Be disciplined to do work at the same time every day; hold yourself accountable
  • Eliminate distractions
  • Manage time wisely
  • Stay in communication with your classmates/peers and Instructor
  • Seek help when needed

You may have more writing heavy assignments during this time, it can't hurt to check with the Communication Center for a little writing help.
