Indigenous Peoples' Heritage Month is celebrated in November. In the United States, it is also known as National Native American Heritage Month or American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month. The McGraw-Page Library is using the term “indigenous peoples” in recognition of the shared identity amongst individuals who lived together in a community before countries, states, or regions were officially classified and named.
