Interlibrary Loan Resource Sharing

A resource guide for Interlibrary Loan Resource Sharing procedures in Tipasa.

Document Delivery

  • New: items that are new for review of which the library lists holdings.
    • New - Copies: copies of chapters or articles of which the library lists holdings.
    • New - Loans: books/physical items of which the library lists holdings.

Processing Document Delivery

Click on New to view all requests or select New - Loans or New - Copies and follow the procedures for each ILL Type:

New Loans:

  • Click on the item Title.
  • Look at the Local Holdings on the right hand side. 
    • Check the Availability Status.
  • If the item is listed as checked out, click on Change Fulfillment Type at the top of the request. 
    • Select ILL Request.
    • Proceed with ILL Borrowing Request procedures.

New - Copies:

  • Click on the item Title.
  • Look at the Local Holdings on the right hand side. 
    • Check the Availability Status.
      • The item should be linked via the supplying database if it is available in the system. 
      • If the article is not linked, check to see if it is a bound journal/periodical that we need to physically copy for the patron. 
      • Retrieve the article/chapter if available and download it to your computer.
  • Upload the article/chapter via Article Exchange.
    • Select the item to upload from your computer and click Open.
    • Click Drop File.
    • Check that a URL and Password have generated.
    • Preview the item to make sure it uploaded properly.
  • Copy the email address of the requester from the bottom of the request.
  • Scroll back to the top and Mark as Complete.
  • Email the patron and attach the pdf to the email to ensure they receive it.
  • If the article/chapter is not held by the library, click on Change Fulfillment Type at the top of the request. 
    • Select ILL Request.
    • Proceed with ILL Borrowing Request procedures.
