The Library holds the photo archive of the now-defunct local newspaper, the Hanover Herald-Progress, which includes photographs, documents, articles, commemorative editions of the paper, local histories, and memoirs. This collection contains over 40,000 pieces, with the dominant materials being photographs, documenting the history of Hanover County, Virginia, and the Town of Ashland from colonial times to the present. Most of the materials are 1960s-2009.
