We ask that anyone submitting a print request to please observe copyright and fair use when downloading models. We highly recommend they discuss their model with Makerspace staff about printability and resolutions before submitting their request.
3D prints and laser cuts are FREE for academic projects, and get priority over personal projects.
For personal prints:
- Load the print in the applicable software/slicer to get time/material used
- Let them know how much a print will cost
- They'll need to pay HERE first
- Send us a copy of the receipt
- Then we'll start the print and let them know when it's complete.
Tutorial on how to use Randolph-Macon College's online payment system can be found in this PDF
3D Prints
- We accept STL file format for 3D printing. If a student submits a STILL file (typically an engineering student) please respond to them and remind them we only accept STL files. We mainly use PLA for 3D prints.
- $2.00 per hour/17g depending on which printer is used.
Laser Cut
- $2.00 per 12x12 sheet of wood
- Students are welcome to provide their own wood for laser cut projects!
