If you do not currently have Internet connectivity at home, there are several options available for inexpensive internet.
To discover what other companies may be offering through the cellular carrier or cable company in your area, do a Google search for “{companyname} COVID-19” or call your local provider.
Zoom allows you to participate in synchronous (real-time) video conferencing. You can chat, go into breakout rooms, chat with others in class, and share your screen (for example, you could share a presentation you had created in PowerPoint or Google Slides).
You can test your video, audio, sharing your screen, and chatting.
Things to know about Zoom:
Some students experience problems accessing scheduled Zoom meetings from Canvas; they do not have a "Join" button available in their Canvas. Please refer to this troubleshooting information.
Sometime Zoom video freezes or cuts out completely. To combat this:

Mathematica is a software system made by Wolfram Research. It is a state of the art system for technical computing and visualization
Mathematica tutorials and books are also available near the bottom of the webpage.
SPSS Statistics, the world’s leading statistical software, is designed to solve business and research problems through ad hoc analysis, hypothesis testing, geospatial analysis and predictive analytics. Organizations use SPSS Statistics to understand data, analyze trends, forecast and plan to validate assumptions, and drive accurate conclusions.
Students can install SPSS on their personal computers from MyMaconWeb.
1. Login to MyMaconWeb: https://mymaconweb.rmc.edu/ with your R-MC username and password
2. Click on the Student tab and go to SPSS Software
3. Download the SPSS package for PC or Mac
4. Get the SPSS Authorization codes. You will need the authorization code when you open SPSS for the first time. If you need assistance, please contact ITS at helpline@rmc.edu.
Students can install Stata on their personal computers from MyMaconWeb.
1. Login to MyMaconWeb: https://mymaconweb.rmc.edu/ with your R-MC username and password
2. Click on the Student tab and go to Stata Software
3. Download the Stata package for PC
4. Get the Stata License and Activation Key. You will need the licensing and codes when you open Stata for the first time. If you need assistance, please contact ITS at helpline@rmc.edu.
Occasionally issues may keep you from accessing electronic resources. Some things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
Library resources are accessed using a tool called ezproxy, which will prompt you to logon with your R-MC username/password when trying to access databases, ebooks, or other resources through the Library homepage.
If you experience database connection problems, please contact library@rmc.edu. Please provide as much information as you can, including the name and version of your browser, the database you are trying to connect to, and any error messages you may be seeing. If possible, take a screenshot (here's help on how to take a screenshot).
