The faculty writing room is a shared space that also serves as the Special Collections & Archives reading room. The space is located on the second floor of the McGraw-Page Library in the Special Collections & Archives. The faculty writing room is available during regular library hours, and no appointment is necessary. If library staff are not present, faculty may check out the key to the space at the Information Desk.
We ask that you please sign in when you use the space, so that the library can track usage.
The Scholar's Retreat is a week-long event hosted during the week between January Term and the Spring Semester, and during the week following May graduation.
The purpose of the Retreat is to give faculty uninterrupted time to work on a specific writing project, complete research, edit a manuscript, prepare a grant proposal, design a course, etc. The event offers scholars:
The retreat can accommodate groups and individual researchers. Laptops, second monitors, and other tools or technology may be available if requested. Registration information is usually sent via email in January and in May,
