Operating Procedures for Information Desk Student Employees

Renewal

  • Students and community members are limited to two renewals for books and one for equipment. 
  • If a patron wants to renew an ILL, have them email the ill@rmc.edu email. ILLs are subject to rules of the lending institution and might not be eligible for renewal.
  • Items with holds on them cannot be renewed. (OCLC will alert you to this.)

To Renew items:

1. Click on the Circulation tab at the top of the screen.

2. Click on Assist Patrons from the menu on the left.

3. Click the search box under Enter barcode.

4. Ask the patron to tap their ID code on the scanner to the left of the computer.

5. When the patron's page comes up, locate the material that needs to be renewed and click the check box beside the item.

6. Click Renew on the bottom left.

 

If an override request pops up, let Kayla know or send her an email. Take the material from the patron and say we will return it if it can be renewed.
